An Adventureous Fly

I hope you like my post. It is about a fly that travels the world

Once upon a time I was born on a trash heap behind a fancy restaurant in France. I have lots of friends, like crickets, ants, and butterflies. one day my friends flew me out of the trash heap and said I would have to pupate (change into an adult). I would have to eat a ton of food to pupate. I started to eat. I ate eggs, steak, egg nog, red potatoes, and more. It was so delicious!!
After a while I felt a tingle and started to harden up. For a few days my friends were waiting for me. Once I came out my friends were so happy.
I was a fly that wanted to see the world. I packed my bags and went off to see the world. ''Au revor'' (good bye) I said and set off. First I went to England and saw the Queen and she invited me to tea!! Then I went to Egypt, United States, India, China, Russia, Chad, Sudan, Spain, Cuba. When I got home I was made a hero fly. The End

Pyramids

Do you want to know the answer to some mysteries of the Great Pyramid of Giza.

1.) The first thing most people wonder about it is what kind of ramp did the Egyptians use to move the blocks that made the pyramid. They used three different ramps: single, spiral, and zigzag.

2.) Most of the time people wonder who the Great pyramid is made for. The top chamber in the pyramid gives proof that the pyramid is built for Khufu.

3.) Sometimes people wonder how the barges that carried the heavy blocks did not sink. The barge was pulled by lots 0f little boats.

4.) People have also wondered how heavy the blocks were. The blocks were 2 to 16 tons.

I hope you like my post. Bye

Egyptian landmarks

The Great Pyramids and the Great Sphinx

1.) It is thought the nose of the Great Sphinx was shot off by Napoleon's men, but this is not true. There are signs that the nose has erroded away over time.

2.) Ramesses II may have tried to restore the Great Sphinx.

3.) The Great Pyramid is built for Khufu.

4.) Herodotus, a ancient greek historian, was told by his Egyptian guides that it took 22 years for a force of 100,000 oppressed slaves to build the pyramid. Stones were lifted into position by the use of huge machines and the purpose of the structure, according to Herodotus's sources, was as a tomb for the Pharaoh Khufu.
Herodotus was partially wrong. The Great Pyramid was a tomb for Pharaoh Khufu, but it is believed that less people were used to build the pyramid and they were not slaves. Also, simple machines such as pullies and sleds moved the stones.

The Temple of Luxor

1.) The Temple of Luxor held the Festival of Opet. Built largely by Amenhotep III and Ramesses II, it appears that the temple's purpose was for a suitable setting for the rituals of the festival.
2.) Known in the Egyptian language as ipet resyt (ipet-isut), or "the southern harem", the temple was dedicated to the Theban Triad of Amun, Mut, and Chons and was built during the New Kingdom. The focus of the annual Opet Festival, in which a cult statue of Amun was paraded down the Nile from nearby Karnak Temple to stay there for a while, with his consort Mut, in a celebration of fertility.

King Tut's tomb

1.) It is not the grandest tomb in Egypt, and was certainly not occupied by one of Egypt's most powerful rulers. But in general, the population of the world know the tomb of Tutankhamen (KV 62) better then any other. Compared to all the other royal tombs, it was found mostly intact. What was found in this tomb shows us why tombs were robbed.

2.) The King Tutankhamen started ruling the ancient Egypt about 3,500 years ago at age of 7 or 9 and he was dead at age of 16 or 18 or 19. His reign was short and nothing seriously important happened. The most interesting thing about him is his mysterious death.

3.) King Tut's curse is not real!

Bye.

Egypt...part 3!!!!

Hi today we are going to the time machine . We are going to ancient Egypt!!!!!!!!!
First we are going to look at the gods of Egypt. First up is the king of the gods Amon-Re next is my favorite god Thoth then Isis and then Anubis and last but not least is the cat god Bastet who is the god for you if you like cats. Next is monuments. Does this look familiar? Right it is a obelisk like the Washington monument in D.C. There was so much more monuments that the Egyptians where famous for!

The Egyptians where also famous for mummys which are so interesting to study! I really want to say how mummys where made but it is so inappropriate on a blog!

Next is the tomb. there is so many things in tombs even toys some times there is nothing at all in tombs not even mummys! Egypt is a world of wonders

this is made for a king or per-aa. Kings where thought of as living gods they where so royal they where buried.

So that is all for now. Bye

Greece-part 2

Today I am doing a post about Greece and here is what look forward to knowing more about.
Ok here is a few facts. In 1687 the Venetians, under Francesco Morosini, attacked the Ottomans in Athens. The Acropolis had been made stronger by the Ottomans . The building was also used as a gunpowder store and when the Parthenon took a direct hit from a cannon fired by the Venetians from the Hill of Philopappus, the gunpowder exploded and destroyed a large part of the building. Morosini and his men soon plundered the building, looting what they could find and destroying the rest, leaving the partial ruins that can be seen today. I also want to know why the Acropolis was built.
Work began on the Parthenon, built on the Acropolis, in 447 BC to replace an existing temple which was destroyed by the Persians in 480 BC and cost 469 silver talents to build. The work began under the orders of Pericles to show the wealth and exuberance of Athenian power. The name of the building most likely came from a cult statue of Athena Parthenos housed in the eastern room of the building. This magnificent structure was built of ivory and gold and was sculptured by the renowned sculptor Phidias. Phidias also built the statue of Zeus.
Blue and White. These two colours symbolise the blue of the Greek Sea and the Whiteness of the restless Greeks waves. According to the mythic legends, the Goddess of Beauty, Aphrodite emerged from these waves. Also, it reflects the blue of the Greek Sky and the White of the few clouds.

And I look forward to know even more than that!!!!! The world is such a cool place there is so much more to know.

bye for now. Sam
